The Sunday Salon

The Sunday Salon.com

I finished Ghostwalk by Rebecca Stott and overall I enjoyed the book ...the cover states that.. it is a haunting literary thriller in which a contemporary Cambridge murder story becomes entangled with a true-life historical mystery involving Isaac Newton's alchemy...

I read it right up to the end and found the ending satisfying but I have to say...because of little character development, I really cared little about these people. There were several, little developed, side characters and so many different stories from present day to past. There was a sordid love affair, and murder or murders and then in depth historical references...I wish she would have chosen maybe two themes and wrote around them. I will probably re-read this again because I still feel like I haven't got all the pieces in place.
I have decided to start again, As I lay Dying by William Faulkner...we'll see how far I get this time...I don't know what it is with me and this book but I get about half way and quit.
Still reading, A New Kind of Christian by Brian D. McLaren and Three Cups of Tea is still on my nightstand.
I have also picked up Marley & Me by John Grogan as it was a gift from my daughter. I will be busy reading this week and I am very excited.

Ronda: Just came across your post here on The Sunday Salon and noticed you are reading Three Cups of Tea. I belong to a group online that is reading and discussing it, if you're interested. The link is http://tinyurl.com/6y4kgr.

It's called Book Blogs at Ning.com and the specific group is Travel Around The World (from a Comfy Chair). Any questions, drop me an e-mail at justareadingfool@gmail.com.

I keep looking at Three Cups of Tea everytime I go to the library. It looks like a really inspirational book.
