Meeting him is on my bucket list because... it would seem all my life, I have had a huge crush on this man. I know he is 80 now and recently had some very real health issues so it is doubtful I will ever meet him but I am happy just to be his fan!

I agree! I have always loved him.. Murphy's Romance is one of my all time faves!
You're not alone - I've loved him since Maverick in 1957.
But, Ronda, don't give up yet. Yes, he's 80, and yes, he did have a severe stroke. BUT, he is home now, and doing great. The only lingering deficit he had to rehab was a slight weakness in his left side, but even that is now gone. He's OKAY!
I don't know if he will decide to work again, but knowing Jim, I'd say the chances are pretty good.
You just never know...
