Hurting over Granny...

I was re-reading my post from yesterday and I must say I was a little angry...but really, anger is always the first layer...I don't know about others but anger is the easy emotion. If I stay angry...it will prevent the hurt from surfacing and this is hurting.
I know she is 91 and I know God doesn't intend for this to be our permanent home, however I am really not ready for her to go...
My Granny was always on my side and she loved me in practical ways...not overly mushy ways. When my Dad was stationed in England...she got on a plane to visit us...
She taught me almost everything I know about God and His love...
When we moved from England back to the States, I was more British than American and I wasn't fitting in well, she prayed for me and I met people who did like me, accent and all.
She has told me she prayed for my husband, that God would send him to me and I believe her. The thought that Granny prayed for my Hubby has gotten me through some rough patches in my marriage...that our commitment alone might not of.
I try everyday to be like her for my grandchildren. I had wanted my grandchildren to call me Granny even though it's a little old fashioned because I wanted to be reminded of her standard but your grandchildren will call you want they wish and I am GiGi. That's the way it should be...there is only one Granny!

It's funny, but I find myself thinking more of my Grandma now that I'm a grandma. I'm wondering what my little Ethen will decide to call me when he really starts talking.

You know, anger is simply that, a way of saying 'hey, this hurts' It's something that injures us somewhere - like how you yell when you stub a toe?! Exactly the same, and you're perfectly entitled to it.

Big hug going out to you and Grandma, she sounds lovely, absolutely lovely.

I know how hard this is for you. I want you to know that I know granny is proud of you and everything you stand for! You are a beautiful woman and Im honored to call you my mother in law and the future gigi of my children. I know that granny will always shine through in everything you do. I love you

Your poor Granny! I am hoping that she'll be ever to recover from her fall and get back to normal again.

isn't it inspiring when some one just is so amazing you want to be just like them? there are people in my life like that, mostly I would like one thing from my dad, one from my mom, a couple from my grandma....

I am so glad that you found someone who is such a beautiful person. granny, it doesn't sound too old fashioned! you know that older names are coming back, agnes, ethel, ella, pearl....so granny sounds great too!!:)
