October Bloggy Book Club

For the month of October...I have chosen The Shack by Wm. Paul Young or William P. Young as I have seen it credited both ways. He has a blog here.
This will not be an easy read...The back cover page asks the question "Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?" This is a novel about a father who's youngest daughter is abducted during a family vacation and evidence points to the fact that she was brutally murdered in a shack. Four years later, in the midst of his great sadness, he receives a note apparently from God asking him to come to the shack for the weekend! What he finds there will change him forever.
This is the book I received from Rhonda at A Day in Rhonda's Life for her pay-it-forward contest...
We will all blog about it Sunday, October 26th.

Yep. I've got everything but the picture. BTW that is an awesome book. My church has been reading it. I read it in about 7 hours. I couldn't put it down. It starts off a little slow but I really enjoyed it. I've been meaning to blog about it but I wanted to read it again first so it was fresh in my mind.

Wow! Just your explanation of what the book is about has me intrigued!!! I will wait for your review. I haven't had a chance to read any books for several weeks now. I love to read in the winter though.....so I may have to check this out!

Love the Bush quote you left in my comments today. You're right.....its too sad to be funny anymore!

You have a great day as well! I brought my coffee to work....I think some of us are going to try it this week.....look at me playing nice with others and sharing....;) (Notice I didn't share the chocolate though) :)

This sounds like a great read. Difficult subject matter but sounds really good. I wonder if I can find it at my library.

So she gives the coffee away and tells people about it in a place that I might be reading?

This book club isn't going to be big enough for the both of us. She needs to stay on the other side of the cheese ball.
