I Am Sleeping with the Enemy...

Yes, I am sleeping with the enemy...
He pretends to support me but nooooooooo....The foods he brought into this house to entice me to forget and succumb to the dark and less healthy albeit... happy side!
He nods dutifully, so convincingly when I say I want to lose these 10 pounds...yes I have gained back the 4 pounds I misplaced!
This long holiday weekend was only an excuse to fatten me up like a holiday turkey!
We have done things...
Things, I am too ashamed to even talk about...
Over the weekend, each time Valerie Bertinelli or Marie Osmand came on the TV, selling their miracle foods...I hung my head and cried!
I am a grown woman who literally is afraid to get on the scale...Not gonna do it!
Today is a new day, I may have lost the battle but I will win the war...
or die on the battlefield!

***I remembered also helping my Granny out of the hospital bed when she was there and she complained about how big her thighs were! I thought...Dear God! When I am 91...can I please make peace with my thighs!

Oh, we totally need to find a weight loss plan like the one I posted today! With fine looking men. Although men are pigs and want naked women, I would want a sharp-dressed-man standing at my door!

My plan was to try to start being a little more careful yesterday.

It didn't work.

LOL funny. I have begun the road to eating better. It is a sloooooow journey. First and only step so far was to cut my morning bagel in 1/2 and make it wheat. Ill work through one meal at a time. Bad thing is, hubby has been laid-up with his busted leg since May 12th and he happily lays around the house eating and watching TV. He sucks me into it too. I cant wait for him to go back to work....

For sure easier when two are committed to the same goal and willing to adopt a new healthy lifestyle together.

Do not Dismay or give up! With each moment of weakness we have the ability to choose one of two options.

option 1: Throw our hands up in defeat and accept that we'll never change and a bunch of other lies and then bury our head in a gallon of ice cream.

option 2 - Admit we had a moment of weakness and resolve to do the things necessary to avoid the same mistakes in the future.

You are already winning the war for realizing that it is about winning more battles than losing. Not about winning EVERY battle!

Good Luck, there are many who fight this same war and together we strengthen one another.

I hear you....I did not exercise once this weekend....unless you count chasing Z around the park....which trust me....I made up for later with brownies....

I so hope I don't care about what my thighs look like when I'm 90....I hope I'm just happy I made it to 90!

I was really bad over the long w/e too! I had been good the week before but I'm sure I gained back anything I had lost.

That's funny about your granny---I guess we'll never stop obsessing about our thighs!!

Well...I really don't drink although I may start. I walk 3 miles a day...but that's really my only exercise! I am not a big eater but....I had a lot of sugar over the weekend! I have just started to gain weight since I turned 40 and now at 50... forget about it!!!

Oh hon, don't be too hard on yourself, you'll get back in the saddle (very little, trim one!)

Dieting is always hard, and there are always ups and downs.

My most effective diet was the 'white wine and fags' diet, when going through arelationship breakdown. Fabulously thin, but utterly depressed and it'd have killed me in a year!

You poor thing. :-( Don't be too hard on yourself!!! I think you look pretty fantastic!!!
Surely we don't need to concern ourselves with our thighs at age 91!!!!!
I think I will be more concerned with making sure the chin hairs get removed regularly....
ugh. I don't even want to think about it!!!
"Ask E.Jane" says in Elle magazine- "Eat everything! Just not too much!"
:-)
Here's the upside of being a little "plump" as we get older- the wrinkles aren't as visible, it sort of fills them out.
:-D

Hahaha I love it. When I'm 90 I hope I have fat thighs...that means I'm still going right? I hear ya about the 40's, it sucks. I have to work 10 times harder to lose a pound than when I was 30.
