Well, I am thinkin'....
You should probably hang on to something because...it' going to be a bumpy ride! My mind is all over the place today...just so many things to think about... But, I was thinkin' about blogging and why I blog?
At first...I thought I don't know but ...I really enjoy it...I feel creative and it's the most successful I have been at keeping a journal of some sort...
My family's reaction to my blogging has been varied although surprised and perplexed might be a theme...
My Mom at my Father's 70th birthday party warned my Aunt who was talking to me...
"Be careful what you say...She will blog about it!"
As if...? Oh, wait I just did!
My kids were my biggest fans at first...now they don't even look at it! My daughter apologised for not looking at my blog because she had been so busy....
Without even thinking I said.." Oh, I have a fan base!"
I was serious!!!
My husband and I were driving to Jacksonville/St. Augustine for business and dinner at my favorite restaurant and we were staying overnight...
I was talking to my daughter on the phone, telling her all our plans...When the Hubby says ..."I forgot the lap top..."
Without a trace of Irony and I said "But, what about my blog?"
My daughter burst out laughing and told her husband...
"My Dad forgot the lap top and my Mom just said ...But, What about my blog?" (More laughter heard)
Again, I was serious!
Well, I am enjoying the blogging...
I told my friend Karyn that I was spending money on pimping out my blog and she asked how much?
I told her (I am not printing it 'cause I haven't told my Hubby, yet?)
She seemed surprised as I haven't even spent money on clothes (clothes shopping is or was my ultimate pastime) and she said "a month?"
No...a one time fee! "Oh" she says "That's okay!"
What is happening to me and what is very surprising is how I feel connected to all of you...
I care about Nic and that her in-laws might be in danger in Georgia... I pray for their safety!
Keeps always makes me laugh as she is so clever...
I love, love to read Jennifer and all that is happening at the Fun House...even when she makes me cry...talking about her little girl...
Carrie at Candid Carrie always funny but at a turn can break your heart with a very real truth that she lives with everyday and thrives doing it! She is a thriving survivor!
I love to share my book adventures with the Sunday Salon and other book readers!
Gina at Lattes and Lipstick who shared her story about George and her smart and loving fund raising idea...
There is so many and I am grateful for your sharing as you have given me a sense of community...that I didn't know was lacking in my life. I work from my home now and I miss co-workers...partners in crime if-you-will...Thanks for being my partners in crime! I mean that in the very nicest way!
Again, I am serious!

You are so right Ronda--it's been so great to bond w/ other bloggers--it's like a whole new circle of friends! And I totally "get it" about going away w/out the computer! Thank you for saying you like my blog--I really appreciate it!
I'm looking forward to your blog pimping!!
Awwwww!!!!! This was fun!!
And thanks for the mention!!! :-D
I really enjoy reading your blog- you definitely have a fan base!!!
Isn't it funny how connected we feel to people we've never even met?!?! Sometimes even more so than the people we know in real life?!?!
Crazy.
But true.
And FUN!!!
It's so cool to have this great support system of women (and men!) out there in this world- and you're all only a fingertip away.
I can wait to see what you will do with your blog design. Who are you using?
The Cutest Blog...is matching my header to the background and is doing me a little blinkie that says Ronda's Rants...at least I think they are...I haven't heard anything...they have my codes and passwords....I think they are listening! Tee Hee... I am so excited...it's insane!
I feel the VERY same way! I do wonder if your husband forgot the lap top on purpose so he could have you to himself?? lol
Hello Fellow Thonger!!!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Your story made me laugh so hard - my mom was just here for 2 weeks and was very helpful - doing the laundry and such. I got home one day and there on my bed was a stack of shirts, a stack of shorts, a stack of socks, and a lump of panties... she refused to fold them. HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!
What a sweet post! I know exactly how you feel. I don't really talk about my blog to my family....I think they are afraid of the internet. But I love to be "connected". And I love keeping in touch with people that live in different places too. It truly makes it a smaller world.
I love blogging. I didn't think I would and it took me a little bit to not think and just write. But now I love it. And I love all my bloggy buddies.
Here from ICLW.
Ooh, I really want to spruce up my blog, too. The free template is getting on my nerves, but I have been reluctant to spend money until I can put together a plan. Yous is looking good!
A beautiful blog, Ronda. Thank you. You are so right in how you link up with a whole new bunch of friends, and special friends who see you in a light a lot of other people don't.
I love coming over to your blog, it is always so varied - never know what I am going to sit down to!
Thanks for the constant love and caring xxx
Thanks for the comment on "the talk". I am sending Cooper to you. No, jk. Are there books out there that you specifically teach from because I would love to have them. You are my hero.

Gosh Ronda,
Should I just cut and paste your thoughts onto my page? I feel the same! My mom teases me about blogging about family things, I just have to take my laptop anywhere I go and will stay in a hotel with free WiFi only, and get the cravings of if I haven't been on hourly... It is a great way to meet new people, esp. when you have things in common! Thanks for saying my feelings out loud!

I feel the same way. I've had a very positive reaction from friends and family to my blog. I started it as a way to keep my family updated on our daughter and now it is my journal. And I totally feel a connection to all of my bloggy friends. Fact is, I spend more time on a daily basis with most of them than my real life friends.
I find it so funny how crazy I get without my computer and internet. Blogging does that to you, I think.

Coming over from ICLW...
Thank goodness for the iphone, I don't have to worry about forgetting the laptop!! lol
Isn't it so addicting sometimes?
Hi Ronda,
I know EXACTLY what you mean. This whole blogging thing has turned into so much more than I expected and at the same time it is so much different than I ever expected. I love these women as if they were my next door neighbors.
I was just coming by to say thank you for stopping by my blog and to let you know the winner is up.
Nice to meet you. :)
Here from IComLeavWe...
I asked myself the same question a few weeks ago - it is because of the connections, community and helps prevent isolation.
Though I had to give it (for a while) up to save my relationship and resolve a lot of personal issues. I am still never going back to the daily posting.
I like to be creative on my blog but I haven't paid to pimp it yet LOL.

Hey Ronda I LOVE your blog lol im a fan tooo.lol,i dont have many readers myself and i LOVE the fact you read mine xxooxx my mum thinks bloggin is just another odd thing i do,n my best buddy thinks my blog is too self critical but well written ,i dont hink this myself... and doug thinks its good, but never reads n often says to me.....are you bloggin what happened today lol.
Blogging is cheaper than therapy and the mall...
Great Post!
I started my blog so my family could read/see updates about the kids. Now, after joining SITS & BATW, it's shifted just a bit. I talk a little more about myself (selfish, i know LOL)and feel like I'm spending time with friends.
I love all the new blogs I have been led to and all the great new friends I have met!
I never told my husband that it actually cost to get my blog pimped. I think that he thinks the lady that did it just did it out of the goodness of her heart. If he is happy believing that I am.
First time over here, I will be back!
This blogging phenomenon is really something else. I have a friend that refuses to read blogs because she believes its just a bunch of self absorbed narcissists looking for an audience. But that's not quite right and I think that attitude belies the fact that she has not in fact actually read any blogs. It's about reaching out and finding people that reach back. Its about honing your writing voice and getting feedback. Its about having a voice and being heard. it's powerful. (she says after dropping down to blogging three times a week because her life is suddenly very busy and she more than ever needs her beauty naps.)
the blog looks great by the way - makes me want to take a vacation.
I can relate to so much of what you have written here! The blog is always on my mind!
