My husband has a file on the computer labeled Plant House and in that file contains these pictures...I call it the "porn file!"
When he has a spare moment he looks at this file and says a silent prayer that God will work it out that he can have this house!
I know what you thinking..."THIS HOUSE! THIS HOUSE THAT LOOKS LIKE A CRACK HOUSE!"
Yes...this house!
This home was built in 1915 and refurbished...unfortunately the couple gave birth to a son who would eventually leave a pot on the stove and burn his parents house down!
We did make an offer on this house and the fine gentleman turned us down and wouldn't move off his price!
I thank God everyday that he did not
but my poor Hubby prays that God will make a way!

I continue to thank my Lord and Savior we will not have that opportunity!!!

i don't know... don't kill me, but i think i may be on your husband's side on this one. it's pretty dang cool.
my husband's porn file contains photos of vintage corvettes.
LoL...speaking as one who purchased an old 1930's beach cottage that had been empty for 7 yrs., and have been "refurbishing" it (read: trying to live in it and make it livABLE at the same time) for the last 10 years...
My HEART is with the hubby, but my HEAD says LUCKY GIRL!!
It truly could be beautiful. But, oh, the WORK! I'm a move in and enjoy kind of gal. Not a move in and do dishes in the bathroom sink and eat supper on the dryer because nothing else works right now and probably won't for MONTHS kind of gal.
I'm with Bob on this one - that house is GORGEOUS and has soooo much potential! But, it would take a lot of work & money, so I see your point of view too!
Is it in a good area?
Me too! Especially at 50 years of age!
It is in the historical part of Plant City... a very nice area...near where my grandmother went to school! I just think it is too much money!
It looks like it could be an amazing house--but I know what you mean about being happy you didn't get it! I'm totally getting cold feet about our real estate offer! Talk me down!!
Ronda, what can I say but, "you are a Lucky Girl!"
I know...I dodged a bullet on this one!
I do think God may love me the most!
GREAT looking house... but the refurb would take the rest of your physically healthy abled life. It's such hard work. Been there... done that. I'm with you, Ronda... NO WAY!

OK, I love that house. I wouldn't want to pay for all the work it needs, but I think it would be amazing when done.
love the reference to the porn file
good bones in the house
WOW, what a mess!!!
I'm on your side, no thanks!
If I had the money to hire someone else to do the work I wanted, then I would totally go for it; it is BEAUTIFUL! However, I would not want to do any of the work other than telling the others to get to work, wearing my cute hardhat and sipping my mug of coffe.
I think it's fantastic! Just LOVE the bones of that house! What an awesome undertaking!
happy WW!
Thanks so much!! Yours is pretty cute too! I'll become a stalker/fan of yours now!! Always looking for new friends to follow!!
I love your title! I love the message here. But I gotta say....what a fabulous house that will be someday!! I hope it happens for you some day. When the time is right!
Well...I'm not sure where I side with this one!! On one hand the house has great potential, on the other..ugh what a job! Maybe if hubby does ALL the work and I don't have to live there until it is completely finished...then I would cave and say Heck yes we can buy the house!
Good luck!
Wow, I used to traffic a house like that and from personal experience, you are better off. ;) (totally kidding--I'm not a druggie, reformed or otherwise, although I aspire to be.)
How sad that the house burnt down.....and that it needs to be remodelled......again. Bet that man is regretting rejecting your offer about now........:)
That House looks awesome Rhonda-I can only imagine the nightmare called renovations tho...
Sounds like your husband is insane!!! Can't he see all the hard labor involved?!!! Why it would take years to refurbish this.
My Wordful is posted. I do hope you can stop by today. Happy Wednesday.
I don't know....that looks like a cool house...if I had the money I think it would be fun to refurbish a house.
You and your hubby are so funny....praying so hard for opposite things...
I have SO got the solution for you...
Win the LOTTERY!!! Then you can buy it for whatever the guy wants, pay someone to fix it up, and just move in when it's done!
Looks like you two are cancelling out each other. HA!
I see potential here.
Loved this post, it made me laugh.
Wow. Dueling Prayerlines. That's a new one! LOL But, I gotta say, I would love that house. The structure of it is awesome!
I LOVE that house. Who knows, maybe if the housing market stays soft, the guy will come down on the price. The rehab won't go on forever -- it will just seem like it!
That would be alot of work....but I also think I would love that challenge. Who is praying harder? You or your hubby?
I love his desire and dedication to this dream. I ADORE your wisdom. I have been there. I will send you the tshirt. It's fun for about a month...
The house is awesome! You better start praying to cancel out his prayers. I don't know if that will work or not.
We are married to the same man. My husband just loves money pits like that one. He oohs and aaahs and I say, "No way, mister".
whew! what a chore! :)how are you taking the collllddd!??!?! Ive got my heat on!!
