My Mail ...Seriously!

I am so busy...not sure what to post today!
I don't know if any of you get emails asking questions but I do...I am little surprised at how many...these are emails from people I don't know. There have only been a few unkind ones and I have tried to answer them respectfully!
But...I thought maybe you would like to hear my answers to the most popular ones ...
During the Election...
This question asked nicely and not so nicely...
How can you be a Christian and a Democrat?
How can you vote for Obama and be a Christian?
Well, my answer is that we will have to agree in love to disagree about our idea of what a Christian is...I don't see a conflict in my values and faith here but I accept your right to disagree with that idea.

How can you as a Christian speak to Muslims?
Because I want to understand and I am hoping to be understood. Nothing more than that...just an understanding and respect for one another.

Do you know that there are people who follow and comment on your blog that are not nice and they post vulgar things?
Do you know that one person posted a racist comment on her blog and no one not even you called her on it?
Why not?

This set of questions...I struggle to answer...first...I don't believe in censorship of any kind...now saying that and living with that are two different things!
Vulgar...I am not really interested in it but I don't object to it...I just move on!
Racist...is a different thing and I do struggle with how to handle it, while I would never tolerate it in my presence...commenting on it in a blog would attach my name to it and I don't want that!
So far my policy has been to just move on!

Last question...
How did you hurt your foot?
I've always walked and have done fine but I was trying to start running and I think from lack of support (old running shoe) I have hurt my arch in my right foot! It has depressed me a little and made me feel old...I am doing what the Doc said and hopefully it will be better. I am looking into Pilate's, as I love Yoga!
That's it...what's in your mail bag?

I like your approach to these difficult comments/questions. I'm with ya' on that. Tolerance needs to work both ways if we are ever to get along. You go girl! :-)

Hey georgie... blogger has been a little whack for me today as well...

Ronda, you are a bigger person than I since I would either give the racist commenter a piece of my tiny mind, or delete their comment entirely. I too believe in freedom of speech but would not want their comment to remain on my blog forever. Let them be the one to move on and hopefully never visit my blog page again.

P.S. I have a bi-racial grandson.... some would see a problem with that... we on the other hand see only love when we look at him.

Di,
I would see love as well! This was not a comment...I would respond and would most assurdedly delete. No, this was a follower of mine's own blog...she used the "N" word and I did not call her on it! I struggle now...with how I should have handled it!

Well I guess I do have something to be thankful for , not having a "popular" blog!
You are so tasteful and tactful in your answers. I don't know if I could be...maybe thats why my blog is not so popular LOL!

When I first found your blog (through SITS) and saw the picture with the scripture at the top, I thought, "Oh, boy." But as I read your stuff, I realized that, like me, you are both a Christian and a rational, loving person.

Not sure why so many people have such a difficult time reconciling those -- my God loves everyone.

Popular blog...so funny!
Tasteful and tactful...even funnier...My Mother would be so grateful to God that you think that!

Jeanne...I can't email you...I don't have your email address so I will answer here. I almost didn't do it because of that reason!!!
But...I am a worrier and I am a fearful person by nature...that scriptures helps me know...I am not doing "this" alone! Thank you for that comment...it means a lot to me!

Oh my.....no one has EVER emailed me with questions such as those!!!

I like your answers and you are very kind. Seems like the answers to some of those questions is just 'common sense'. Geez!

I was going to rant today a little about relgion and respect and all that as someone I work with offended me this morning....but I'm just trying to move on.....its hard.

People email you these questions? I am astounded. No one has ever emailed me anything like that or asked anything like that in a comment. I bet they run from my blog so soon they don't bother to leave a comment!! Maybe I am one of the bad ones they are referring to:)

Wow! That's a bit bold of them to ask such questions but sweet of you to answer them.

I don't tolerate racism at all. I always say that if we were turned inside out, then no one would judge us by our outsides at all.

It is purely ignorance that causes people to ask questions such as the ones that you were asked.

Great answers!

Are these your readers that asked you these questions?

I agree w/ you in that I don't agree w/ censorship, but the racial thing would bother me a lot. I'm glad I didn't see it!!

These are people who read sometimes...I guess, but I don't know them. These are emails sent to me not comments on my blog!
They are not people I know...some are sent through a blind acct. One has sent me a few emails and is actually going to start a blog of her own...and she should because it will be great! But, the others are people who said their opinion and I answered but I haven't heard back that I know of...
