The Engagement Party!

When the food is not ready and 48 people are coming to your home...the 50's housewife has a glass of wine! My youngest, Ryan and I pose for a picture!

The Engagement party was so much fun! We did a "I Love Lauren theme...with I love Lucy overtones!" Everyone dressed in a 50's theme. We had greasers, bobby soxers, Sandy look-a-likes, men in suits and 50's housewives! Only a few bumps...my food and the catered food was not ready on time!

The Bride-to-be and me!

We are Empty Nester's ...so our home isn't really big...so when you have 48 people coming you take the party outdoors for overflow!

We emptied the patio and the living room and filled the space with round tables!

Notice...the empty serving plates on my stove...waiting for the food that is NOT done cooking in the ovens!!!!

It was a lot of fun and I am so blessed to be getting her in our family...it's not just our son who loves Lauren...we all do!

I would LOVE to take all the credit for this party...however very quickly The Only Daughter would set me straight! My Daughter helped with this party and while the idea was mine...many of the actual design items were all hers...she is very creative and she loves Lauren too!
