I would NEVER put Zander out of the car and make him fend for himself. I am his mother through good and bad and my job is to take care of him. Did I mention they were IDIOTS!!! Ohhh...that makes me soooo angry. You don't know what creeps are out there ready to do harm to kids.....and that woman basically just handed someone her kids on a silver platter. I bet their fighting didn't seem to bad after her arrest, huh? My daughter(14 at the time) ran cross country and they were required to run 10 miles back into town after being dropped off by the coach. She was the fastest and always ran alone. My kids walk to the local grocery store to buy a coke when they have them in the fridge. I am sorry, I am missing the horror of this. If the kids had wanted to walk home with no anger involved would everyone feel so upset over this? I would probably be a world class athlete if my dad had made me run home instead of giving in to my whining.jill jill bo billhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08559834800523759760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-955793709046493712.post-25370542687164723872009-04-28T21:58:00.000-04:002009-04-28T21:58:00.000-04:00My dad is so oblivious that he would tell you I wa...My dad is so oblivious that he would tell you I was a liar but he could spout all the bad stuff I did that he didn't like. I don't think it's all that terrible, to be honest. Now, if they were 6 and 7 years old and they were in a questionable area of town, that would make it different. It's totally something my parents would have done... and, like Em's mother, probably something my mother would advocate today (again, depending on age and area). She doesn't put up with crap. So I didn't find it odd or upsetting in any way that the grandmother was in the car. Lots of grandmas are mean old ladies, you know ;).Dianehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16637670293642285740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-955793709046493712.post-87808096409108469472009-04-28T12:45:00.000-04:002009-04-28T12:45:00.000-04:00It all depends on the ages of these kids, and she ...It all depends on the ages of these kids, and she only drove around the block. Now you see, I personally didn't care. Perhaps someone better would take me home. So they did come back and get me and I sadly had to get back into the car and live with those nuts. Back in the day no one would have thought it was punishable to do what they did.A New Yorkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11997572457756451648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-955793709046493712.post-87700434998664786392009-04-28T08:57:00.000-04:002009-04-28T08:57:00.000-04:00A couple of years ago in our area, a woman left he...A couple of years ago in our area, a woman left her toddler (3 years old I think) by the side of the road of a major highway. When the cops picked her up 60 miles (yup) later, she said she was "tired of him whining all the time." Some people, huh?
